The 2nd edition of the Camden Classics Cup is all set to take place in New England on July 27 to 29.
This is one of the popular vintage and classic races where traditional boat owners can enjoy the best of the sailing in the New England waters. The 2016 annual Camden Classics Cup was a great hit and it is expected that the 2017 annual event will be an even bigger success. The race will be held in Maine and its event opens the classic yacht racing season in Maine.
A very good lineup of the fleet came to the waters of Penobscot Bay for the inaugural Camden Classics Cup and sailed into the Camden Harbor. The event will include 2 days of CRF, PHRF and the Spirit of Tradition boat racing. There will also be the customary post-race celebrations.
The events for the public will include regatta highlights and viewing of the popular Maine Maritime Museum Parade of Sail from the harbor. The CC fleet will be dressing the ship and the parade through Camden Harbor.
The registration for the Camden Classics Cup is open. The sailing instructions for the race, the NOR and the 2017 events calendar can all be accessed from the Camden Classics Cup website. There is no doubt in the minds of the organizers that the event will draw even bigger and better participation from the sailing enthusiasts this time round.
The CCC will be followed by the Camden Classics Week that will have youth sailing, other events as well as the destination racing to Castine, Brooklin and to other popular islands. So, all this will lead to week long activities of racing, sailing and cruising in Maine. There is going to be a lot of visitors visiting the town of Camden in Maine during the CCC event.
